A massive crowd of 6,674 watched the Nationwide Conference match of the day and it lived up to its billing.

Two superb goals plus wholehearted commitment kept the crowed on edge throughout, and although Yeovil had the better of the attacking, a draw was probably a fair result.

Doncaster stunned the Yeovil fans with a goal on eight seconds. It was a dream start for Danny Hudson, signed during the week on loan from Rotherham. He burst down the middle and scored with his first touch.

The early goal shook Yeovil out of their stride for a while but they were soon pressing forward and equalised with a fabulous 15th minute goal from Gavin Williams.

There appeared to be nothing on when he picked up a pass from Adam Lockwood, but he tried his luck from 30 yards and the ball flew into the top corner off the angle of post and bar.

It was to be the only time Andy Warrington in the Doncaster goal was beaten by a team that had scored 23 goals in six previous games.

But Warrington was kept busy although Doncaster came close to snatching the lead after 30 minutes when Justin Jackson beat Lockwood on the left. His cross into the goalmouth saw Hudson and Paul Barnes racing in to put the final touch, but Colin Pluck managed to scramble the ball away for a corner.

The second half saw Warrington by far the busier goalkeeper. He made a good save from substitute Terry Skiverton, but looked to be helpless when a Williams shot was blocked and fell kindly for Andy Lindegaard.

The young striker wasted his opportunity, however, and Rovers survived.

At the other end Jon Sheffield had to make one excellent save from Skiverton, who almost conceded an own goal following a 76th minute corner
