Five points out of a possible 36 is Southport's abysmal record since they last won a Conference fixture at Hereford back on November 9.
And their performance against Doncaster showed why they have so many problems at the moment.
They were totally out-played by Doncaster, who continued their challenge to Conference leaders Yeovil and to make it even more disappointing one of the outstanding players in the visiting side was defender Tim Ryan, who used to be a regular member of the Southport team.
But even Ryan was out-shone by midfield man Paul Green who scored two goals and controlled things for the visitors.
In contrast with the notable exception of Steve Pickford, Southport were virtually non-existent in midfield and their defence had great difficulty in containing a number of dangerous Doncaster attacks.
As early as the first minute the writing was on the wall for them as Robert Gill squandered an easy chance, shooting straight at Kevin Welsby from deep inside the penalty area.
Southport however managed to survive a long spell of pressure which paid off for Doncaster after 25 minutes when a free-kick from the halfway line by Chris Beech was headed forward by Paul Barnes and Green beat Welsby with a fierce cross-shot from 15 yards.
After that it was all downhill for Southport who were lucky not to concede a second goal three minutes after the interval.
Barnes saw a fierce shot rebound off an upright with Welsby in no position to save, but Doncaster scored again in the 52nd minute when a corner from the left by Francis Tierney went across to the far post, Green chipped it back and Gill gave Welsby no chance with a powerful close-range header.
Most of the final stages were played in a torrential hailstorm with intermittent thunder and lightning as well, but that did not prevent Doncaster scoring twice more.
Their third came in the 80th minute when Gill did well to pull the ball back from the by-line on the right under pressure from Andy Scott and Barnes lobbed the ball into the net with Barry Jones trying unsuccessfully to keep it out.
And Doncaster completed their comprehensive victory in the 86th minute when substitute Andy Watson opened the way for Green to hammer the ball into the roof of the net from 25 yards.
