On a mixed day for the weather at the Keepmoat Stadium, Doncaster Rovers were up against recently relegated Scunthorpe United and neither team could come out on top on this Yorkhsire derby.

Scunthorpe were first to find the back of the net with Kevan Hurst heading home from a corner only 3 minutes in to the match. New signing John Spicer and on-trial former Celtic defender Steven Pressley who was given man of the match started the match for Rovers although there was no sight of Darren Byfield.

The Rovers then left it late but came back with a strike from permenant signing Stuart Elliot in the 83rd minute after both youngsters Waide Fairhurst and Andrew Boyce were given substitute appearences.
