Doncaster Rovers suffered from Carling Cup distraction as they went down 0-2 at Belle Vue.
FIRST HALF
Donny started brightly although didn't create any cast iron chances, but the only chance they managed to create was On 22 minutes, some good football by Donny (rare in this game), McIndoe passed inside to Green, who hit a pile driver from 20 yards out but it was blocked by a defender.
Five minutes later, Tranmere started to control the game and Donny soon faded away, although Steve Roberts and Mark Albrighton were controlling the defence well.
SECOND HALF
The first goal came when a long ball was played by Tranmere and Albrighton left it for Budtz to pick up, only the ball didn't make it into the keepers box, the ball bounced and was collected by Tranmere striker Davies who passed the ball into an empty net.
To add insult to injury, Tranmere scored a second in added time; Steve Roberts found himself faced by two Tranmere strikers on his own, they passed the ball, Jennings rounded Budtz and slid the ball into the empty net.
