FIRST HALF
Rovers kicked off and had the first attack of the game after 90 seconds when Stock in midfield sent Forte down the left wing, who managed to get in a shot from an angle that Basso saved well at his near post.
Two minutes later, hard work by Cademarteri down the right gave him the chance to get in a brilliant cross from which a corner was given. Stock swung the ball in from the corner on the left for Lee to head well over.
The first show for the visitors came a few minutes later, when Showunmi on the City left, put a cross over for Brooker but he stubbed his shot wide.
On 10 minutes, a sweeping move from their own half by the Rovers reached Dyer, just outside the Bristol penalty area, a pass out to McDaid who was running in on the left, put over a brilliant cross for Dyer to get a header on goal, which Basso saved.
Bristol were now getting into the game, with Betsy setting up a Brooker strike that Sullivan saved well.
Stock stood over the ball to take a free kick, but the Bristol wall did its job and blocked it.
SECOND HALF
A free kick to the Rovers on the right, just outside Bristol's penalty area, from McDaid was just wide of the far post in the early minutes of the second half.
On 52 minutes, Lockwood was dispossessed and only a brilliantly well-timed tackle by Lee in the Rovers area saved the day.
Bristol City hit back with a corner and a Russell shot from distance deflected for a corner. Back came the Rovers with another well crafted attack ending in a corner to the Rovers. This was swung to the far post where Dyer couldn't get enough head to it and put it out.
On 88 minutes came the moment when it always seems the high flying teams get the rub of the green. A free kick from Johnson on nthe left touchline halfway into the Rovers half was met at the far post by the towering figure of McCOMBE, who thundered a header into the roof of the net.
My Verdict
Rovers Didn't deserve to loose, but at the end of the day, if we don't score, we're not going to win! At least we've got Cardiff to look forward to!
