A Lacklustre Performance See's Rovers Loose

Rovers Championship survival campaign took a huge blow against The Rams, in a 1-2 home defeat.

Shelton Martis returned from an injury for Donny, replacing Sam Hird in defence. It was the only change made by Dean Saunders.

Midfielder Giles Barnes started against his old club, Rams left-back Roberts and centre-half Jason Shackell also started against their former club.

Tom Naylor made his full debut for The Rams as Nigel Clough made three changes.

Rams left-back Roberts and centre-half Jason Shackell also started against their former club.

Some sloppy goalkeeping from Ikeme gave Robinson an easy lob after he charged out of the box to attempt a clearance of a long ball. 0-1 Rams.

Rovers first real chance was a Diouf header from 12 yards but it flew over the crossbar.

Ikeme somewhat redeemed his earlier error midway through the first half when Roberts blasted a volley through a crowd of players, he saw it late but tipped it round the post for a corner.

Robinson ripped open the Rovers defence with a pass into the box to Roberts, who drilled a shot into the bottom left corner of the net from 12 yards out. 0-2 Rams.

Diouf controlled a flicked-on cross on his chest with his back to goal before swivelling round and beating Frank Fielding with a shot from six yards out. A touch of class from Diouf made it 1-2.

Kyle Bennett had the only chance real chance to equalise but the former Wolves trainee dragged his shot wide in added time.

My prediction was for a 2-0 Rovers victory, although that was on the pretense we'd play like the subsequent five games, however, the performance was very dissapointing and Donny were outplayed for most of the match by Derby, who to be fair, worked very hard throughout the whole game and deserved the victory.
