Expectations were sky high for Jan Molby's first home match back in charge at Kidderminster but they were totally outplayed by classy Doncaster.
A crowd of 3,393 - the best of the season - turned out to see if the former Liverpool star could conjure some more magic after marking his surprise return with a win at Northampton in midweek.
But after a disappointing display he will realise that there is plenty of work to do to get Harriers out of their rut After winning only one of the last six home matches Molby had called for his men to make Aggborough a fortress in their bid to climb away from the relegation zone.
But he would not have chosen to face in form Rovers on his homecoming.
The visitors went into the game on the back of a five-match winning sequence and they oozed confidence from start to finish.
In truth, they were better by a mile in all areas of play and their ability to seemingly score at will condemned Harriers to a miserable afternoon.
Rovers had averaged three goals a game in their last seven outings and their confident approach made the home defence twitchy all afternoon.
They were ahead inside 16 minutes when a misplaced pass from Matt Lewis let in Gregg Blundell for his fifth goal of the season.
The striker seized possession 25 yards out and shrugged off home skipper Wayne Hatswell. Kidderminster had enjoyed the bulk of the play without seriously worrying the home defence, providing some spark to their forward play with some impressive running.
But they lacked real penetration when it mattered and the visitors had few anxious moments before adding their second goal on the hour.
Blundell's raking cross from wide on the left was arrowed in to the near post where Chris Brown darted in to get a deft touch for his fourth goal in five games.
Another bright spot for the promotion-chasing Rovers was the display of young midfielder Rob O'Brien.
The teenager, recalled from a loan spell at Gainsborough, was hugely impressive on his League debut and will be one to watch for the future.
