Paul Barnes' last-minute goal rescued a point for Doncaster in a 2-2 draw at Stonebridge Road.
If the visitors deserved their point it was tough on a spirited Gravesend side who were recovered from going a goal down to so nearly take three points.
The visitors were impressive for the first 20 minutes and took the lead with a spectacular goal in the 26th minute. Robert Gill crossed from the right-hand side and Jamie Paterson arrived on cue to rifle a volley past Paul Wilkerson from the edge of the area.
Gravesend almost equalised five minutes later when the impressive Liam Hatch crossed from the left and Jimmy Strouts' header was saved by Andy Warrington.
The reprieve proved temporary however as Rovers' failed to clear the resulting corner and Che Stadhart turned the ball across the area for Strouts to hook his shot past Warrington.
The turnaround could have been completed two minutes later when Steve McKimm's wayward shot arrived at the feet of Hatch who miskicked with only the keeper to beat.
Five minutes before the break Gareth Owen almost scored one of the goals of the season as he broke from the halfway line evading two Gravesend challenges before chipping his shot just wide.
Two minutes before the break Gravesend took the lead when Dave Morley made a hash of a routine clearance allowing Tostao Kwashi to run through and beat Warrington.
The Zimbabwean could have had a second in first-half injury time but for a last gasp challenge by Tim Ryan.
In an evenly contested second half Gravesend's determination rattled the Rovers defence and midway through the second half they missed a chance to double their lead.
Hesitant defence caused Warrington to clear straight to Fleet skipper Jim Jackson who crossed to the far post where Stadhart's header was turned away by Warrington.
The home side's failure to take that chance was punished in the final minute when Paul Green unsettled the home defence before playing the ball across for Barnes to sweep the ball past Wilkerson
