Gainsboro Trinity Match Report

Ooooh, nice!
So the preseason friendlies are underway. The latest is the game at Northolme, home of Gainsborough Trinity. This has become somewhat of a tradition and one looked forward to by a lot of Donny fans. Nice, near location, good home fans, hot summery weather and some good scran.

Only problem is.....

.....we cancelled it.

So, after spending a tenner on Saturday to watch Rovers and a lower division team (shock horror not us!) huff and puff and not produce much approaching entertainment we cancel one of only two pre-season games of any interest (the other being Disco Deans Hucknall). Never mind there's always Notts County and Grimsby to get excited about. I hope that these games are more beneficial to the players than the fans though and if it helps them come out of the traps running then it'll have been worth playing such nomarks (plenty of offence intended!)

On the plus side it was good to see that Thornton isn't as fat as had been made out, Bunz looks a really good find and that Mark Wright is still plugging away with his non-league, long ball, don't bother with a midfield view of football.  How long before McIntyre and the rest of the cloggers sign up down at London Road?
