Around 200 Doncaster fans made the long midweek trip to Hampshire and although they saw no goals they were treated to a good even contest between two committed sides.
Although both teams fielded strikers from the very top drawer it was goalkeepers Tony Pennock and Andy Warrington who proved to be the heroes with each producing a couple of superb saves to keep parity.
Pennock broke Rovers' hearts with a fantastic reaction save to deny Paul Barnes early in the second half before keeping his side in it again with another stop to thwart the same player in similar circumstances on the hour mark.
At the other end however Warrington, who enjoyed a reasonably carefree first half, chipped over a fierce 20-yard drive by Geoff Pitcher before denying Lenny Piper late on with an excellent diving save low to his left.
That said, a draw was probably a fair result. But in terms of Rovers chasing Yeovil at the top of the table and new look Farnborough still needing points to consolidate their Nationwide Conference position, it was a point which neither really wanted.
Rovers, without the injured Justin Jackson and dropped duo Paul Green and Ricky Ravenhill, threatened early on through Francis Tierney and Robert Gill but both efforts flew over the bar when they really should not have done.
But as in all entertaining 0-0 draws Rovers had to ride their luck at the other end when Rocky Baptiste fired wide when in a good position.
