Doncaster 2-0 Colchester- Match Report

Rovers back in play-off pictureDoncaster climbed back into the play-off places with a comfortable 2-0 home win over relegation-threatened Colchester who missed a penalty to add to their misery.Rovers were much the better side and should have had more goals to show for a dominant display.But they had to survive an early scare when Colchester striker Chris Porter blasted wide from the penalty spot after he had been brought down by Reece Wabara.Doncaster hit the woodwork twice in the first half with Paul Butler heading against the post after three minutes and Abdul Razak hitting the cross bar 15 minutes later.The home side broke the deadlock in the 40th minute of a one sided first half with left back Enda Stevens hammering the ball home through a crowded goal mouth after Nathan Tyson's left-wing cross had only been half-cleared.Rovers missed several chances to assert their superiority before Tyson rattled the ball home from the penalty spot to clinch the issue after Alex Wynter had brought down Dean Furman seven minutes from time.Colchester battled to the finish but seldom looked like scoring after being second best throughout
