It was raining all over the country but at Layer Road, it was extremely humid.
The Rovers started the first half defending near the away end where the rovers fans were.
In the first minute, a long throw-in from the right fell into the Rovers penalty area to the feet of Iilwelumo and he stabbed it past Warrington for the first goal of the match.
Rovers hit back after about 5 minutes; Fortune-West headed down for Forte to stab in a similar goal to that of Ilwelumo's.
The Rovers defence were very unorganised and let in two very sloppy own goals when Richards headed on a throw-in from Halford and McDaid got his head to the ball but only succeeded in heading it backwards past a surprised Warrington for the first OG, three minutes later, the ball was crossed low by Halford to the middle where Foster ran back to try and clear the ball slammed it into the roof of his own net.
As the 30 minute mark came up, the Rovers attempted to hit back whith Mulligan's cross from the right, Davison (Colchester GK) dropped the ball under challenge but McIndoe's shot was charged down by White.
Seven minutes from the half time rest, Mulligan crossed from the right, Foster headed down towards an empty net, the ball bounced high and Forte could not get over it to head into the net.
A lot of the second half was spent in the Colchester half, when Fortune-West was knocked over by Ilwelumo, and the ref gave a penalty, which McINDOE slid home easily.
Predic had a supurb shot come back off the bar and Roberts headed in but the linesman gave offside from the original shot.
Rovers lost 3-2.
