A magnificent defensive performance ensured that Blackpool maintained their unbeaten home run which now stretches to five games.
Had they produced this sort of form earlier in the season then Colin Hendry's side would surely be in the play-offs.
They fought out a hard-earned draw against Doncaster Rovers despite being down to ten men after just 15 minutes.
Influential midfielder Rick Wellens retaliated when he thought he had won a free-kick after a challenge by wing-back Tim Ryan.
Instead the referee awarded Rovers a throw in and Wellens pushed Ryan in the chest and got his second red card at Bloomfield Road this season.
Rovers then put Blackpool under tremendous pressure but they found keeper Lee Jones in superb form.
He blocked shots from Jermaine McSporran and Ricky Ravenhill and threw himself across goal to push away James Coppinger's header.
Blackpool's defence finally gave way in the 40th minute when they failed to clear a corner and Ryan picked up possession on the edge of the box before beating Jones with a superb rising drive.
Hendry reshaped his side at the break by bringing on new signing Ciaran Donnelly for his debut. The ex-Blackburn Rovers player stablised midfield and it was his competitive edge which produced the 53rd minute equaliser.
The Rovers defence found themselves under rare pressure after a good run from Martin Bullock ended with a chance for Donnelly to shoot. His first effort was blocked but he followed up the rebound and created the opportunity for John Murphy to score.
Rovers manager David Penney completely reshuffled his attacking line-up by bringing on three substitute strikers but the well-marshalled home defensive, in which Peter Clarke and Mark McGregor were outstanding, gave nothing away.
