Reading the news late on yesterday that rovers will be plying their trade in Division/League/Serie/ one next season my mind when straight to the non league restructure.
It was and still is a debacle.
Hastily rushed out there are still teams who have planned for Unibond or Ryman life being switched to Conference North and now not a single club from the relegation zones has been dropped from the Conference.
Settling down with a cuppa and some Jammy Dodgers last night to peruse the general Football headlines of the day after a particularly stressful day at work I see this.
"League gets revamp".
I was quite excited at first. Has the league finally decided to do something about Franchise F.C? have they decided to give us all names like the Hawks, The Rhinos and The Giraffes? Have they finally decided that regionalising Division 3 would be a good idea to cut down on travel costs for smaller clubs and increase gate revenues via mucho Derbiy games?
No, theyve changed the name of the first division to the Championship.
Pardon me if i don't burst with flatulent excitement right now at this shocking restructure of the domestic game.
So the 3rd division becomes League 2, and the 2nd division becomes league 1 and we now have a competition called the championship instead of good old division uno.
I've decided to revamp my living room.
From now on I'm changing the name of my T.V to "Hanglider" and my settee is now called a "Barracuda". To make it even more exciting I've changed the name of the curtains to the " Deathlaser" and the colour on the walls is now know as " Hollywood Spitfire". now my living room has had a revamp I'm thinking about charging an extortionate amount of money for sitting on the same old Barracuda watching the same old football on the Hanglider.
Doesn't that sound more exciting?
