The midfielder's goal in the club's 4-2 win over Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Boxing Day, is on a shortlist of five from which the Mitre Goal of the Year 2008 will be chosen.

"I think that they are going to show all five goals on the night and that people attending the function will vote for what they consider to be the best," said Woods.

"How will I do?," asked Woods, who chipped the Forest keeper from the edge of the area.

"It all depends on whether people judge the goal by the actual finish or also take into account the actual move.

"If people do take the build-up into account then I probably think I'll have a better chance.

"I'm obviously delighted to be in the final five when you consider how many goals are scored in Football League games during a year.

"But it will be even better to win the award, not just for me personally, but for the club as a whole."
