A hugely talented central midfielder; Michael suffered a frustrating 2003/04 campaign after a back condition then a broken metatarsal effectively ruled him out for the whole season.
Timlin started his Fulham career as a left winger but was converted to central midfield by Fulham's then Academy Director, Steve Kean. The switch paid remarkable dividends for the player as he made rapid through the Academy's ranks and on to the international stage with the Republic of Ireland before running into injury problems.
