The Season So Far And A Look Ahead - Part 3

A Look Back

Well, the past 6 games haven't been too bad, 10 points out of a possible 15 and although we are only 17th (13 Oct), we are only 6 points off of the play-off places.

Swindon - To be fair, a pretty boring game, not much I can think of about this match but 3 points that we really needed, which saw Forte score and get sent off along with Swindon's Ifil.

Bradford - A game that Rovers played the better, and deserved 3 points and it was the unprofessional behaviour of Bradford that got Ravenhill sent off, the Bradford players were constantly niggling away at him which eventually he lost it and made a red card offence, although I still think that it wasn't red cardable.

Bournemouth - We could have easily won this game with all the chances we had, and we kicked off the scoring with Heffernan early in the match. But Luck was on Bournemouth’s side that night and they scored two goals in the last 8 minutes of the game. What annoyed me was the silly substitutions that Penney had made, Mulligan was having a good game but he took him off for Hughes, and Marples for Heffernan, swapping strikers for defenders is not the way to win matches!

A Look Ahead

Well, not the easiest few matches lay ahead, and here they are -

Southend - They lay top of the table and clear by 2 points, and are in the middle of an 8 game winning streak. But I personally think we will do well as we always seem to do against the better teams in the league, and I think that this match is going to be very entertaining with both of us capable of playing good football, this match is not to be missed. Southend won Nottingham Forest 1-0 at the weekend.

My View

I think that if we can stay unbeaten up until Christmas, then we have got a very good chance this season of going up again, and what a feeling that would be, to go up with a new stadium!
