Sean O'Driscoll on the victory at Plymouth

Rovers' run of 12 games without a win earlier in the season now seems like a distant memory.

O'Driscoll believes the transformation in results has been based on improved concentration and faith in his footballing principles.

He said: "We were sitting at the bottom of the league and you couldn't help coming out of games and saying 'we played well'.

"But we were getting done by silly goals, lack of concentration and all the daft little things you maybe get away with in League One.

"In this league you can't, but we've learnt and adapted really well. We've played some good football and we've had some nice things said about us up and down the country.

"We didn't want nice things said and be out of the division, so it's a job well done from us.

"In football you have always got to invest. Our average crowd is probably one of the lowest in the league, so, financially we have struggled in this league, but that doesn't stop us playing the way we want to play."

The victory at Home Park followed on from the 3-1 win at Ipswich Town the weekend before, and O'Driscoll praised his side for learning from the mistakes made in the 2-0 Easter Monday defeat to Preston.

"We went to Ipswich and beat them 3-1, which was a different type of game," he said. "Ipswich pass the ball and we were excellent there, but we fell below those standards against Preston.

"This was back to being nicely organised"

"Every game we've played, whether we've won, drawn or lost, we have looked at what we could better."

Injuries had threatened to derail Rovers safety push in recent weeks, but O'Driscoll has been delighted with the depth of quality his squad has shown.

"We have lost key players at this last part of this season, so people have come in and done really well," said O'Driscoll.
