Rovers striker James Hayter ruled out of Ipswich clash

He has a groin injury, and doubts remained over both James Coppinger and Gareth Roberts prior to today's training session. "Neither trained yesterday so both will have to prove their fitness today if they want to be considered," said Rovers boss Sean O'Driscoll. Better news for O'Driscoll is that he looks likely to have last season's top scorer, Paul Heffernan, available. "Paul trained yesterday and he is not training to get fit because he's done all his rehab and he's back in full training with the green light to do everything," "He'll train again today and as long as there's no reaction he'll go back into the squad." O'Driscoll is no doubt keeping his fingers crossed that both Coppinger and Heffernan come through, but at the same time he would have no worries starting with young Waide Fairhurst and on-loan striker Billy Sharp again. "I thought that they interacted well with the rest of the team as well as with each other at West Brom on Tuesday," "There are things to work on as a partnership, but it was a good begining." Looking forward to tomorrow's visit of the Tractor Boys, who Rovers beat twice last season, O'Driscoll said: "We were disappointed with the fact that we didn't get something out of the West Brom game so we've got to make sure that we get something out of tomorrow's game. "I watched Ipswich early doors against Coventry because we had Coventry coming up. "Apart from conceding what they probably felt were two poor goals, they were by far the better team but still ended up losing 2-1. "We've experienced playing well in the Championship and having nothing to show for it. "Roy (Keane) has spent a lot of money (since he took over at the club) and he's got a powerful squad. "By their standards they have made a poor start but you wouldn't bet against them being far off at the end of the season."
