Among the players to take advantage yesterday were midfielder Mark Wilson, last season's top scorer, Paul Heffernan, and Shaun McDaid. Others are expected to drop in during the week.

The club's youth team, who have already reported back for pre-season training, will play a friendly game against Boroughbridge on their return from Sweden next month, where they will be competing in the prestigious Gothia Cup.

Boroughbridge is the home town of former Rovers driver John Dodsworth, who died suddenly late last season.

The first of Rovers eight local Championship derbies next season - the game against Scunthorpe at Glanford Park on September 26 - will now kick-off at noon.

Rovers drew 2-2 on their last visit to Glanford Park in the 2006-07 season when both clubs were plying their trade in League One.

"With none of our league games clashing with Doncaster Races this season the only other changes to the fixtures will be the result of Sky Sports," said medIa manager Steve Uttley.
