Rover's midfielder John Oster says Derby games hold no fears
Which is hardly surprising when you consider that Oster has previously played in the Everton and Liverpool and Newcastle v Middlesbrough derbies.
"Derby games are always special - though probably more so for the fans," said Oster.
"Obviously you want to give the supporters something to cheer and to try and give them local bragging rights.
"But for most of the players it is a case of trying to pick up three points whether it's a derby game or not.
"Scunthorpe are at home so it is going to be difficult.
"They've had no hiccups moving up a division and they've settled in quite nicely and they are on a good run at the moment, winning two and drawing one of their last three league games. As I say it is going to be a tough game but hopefully we can go there and pick up our first away win in the league."
Oster, who played his football at Crystal Palace last season, joined Rovers on a six-month contract in the summer, which he hopes will be extended come January.
"It's been a great move so far," said Oster. "I've been playing regularly, which is what I wanted.
"You want to be playing football because at 30 years of age it is not really beneficial to be sat on the bench.
"I've been fortunate to have been in the team for most games but I know that I've got to play well because there is a lot of competition for places.
"But I think that goes for everybody in the team. If you aren't up to scratch there are people wanting to come in and take your place.
"You can only do what you are put on the pitch to do. I'd say at the moment that I'm playing in a role which maximises my input.
"I'm enjoying my football. We like to entertain and the manager wants us to play good football. It is not always possible but we like to get the ball down and play whenever we can.
"I don't think that our position in the league reflects how well we've played. We have only lost two league games and they've both been against teams who were playing in the Premier Division last season - and they were both away from home.
"So it's not all doom and gloom. If we can turn some of the draws into wins then I don't think that this league will be a problem for us."
