"If James gets the all clear then we'll see what the medical people say," said Rovers' boss Sean O'Driscoll yesterday afternoon.

"We are is still not discounting that he may have a problem and may miss one or two games. But at this moment in time we are trying to be positive, not negative."

Coppinger had been looking forward to taking on the Sky Blues at their new home.

"It looks a great stadium and a good pitch, which should suit the way we like to play," he said.

"We beat them 1-0 at home earlier in the season so it gives us a chance of recording our second double.

"They were on fire last month and were probably thinking that they might have an outside chance of making the play-offs.

"But they've lost their last three and are just below us in the league, so it will be a good test for us.

"You don't compare yourselves with the top teams when you are battling for survival, as we have been all season. You compare yourselves with the teams around you or who are just above you.

"I don't know how they see things, and what they feel they have got to play for the rest of the season.

"Our priority all season has been to stay in this division and we are almost there but we can't afford to relax.

"Tomorrow's game is our sixth in 19 days.

"It has been a tough spell and, like all the players, I was looking forward to the international break next week to re-charge my batteries.

"We've had a lot of games since Christmas and playing game after game is not only physically draining but mentally draining as well.

"The Championship is also more demanding than League One was and you have to be on your game every week.

"Because we haven't got the biggest squad in the Championship we've not been able to rotate players like a lot of other clubs.

"We've been lucky in that, until the last ten days or so, we' ve been on a good run and that served to lift us."

Despite three defeats in the last four games having resulted in Rovers dropping several places to 14th, Coppinger says they haven't given up on trying to beat the club's best ever finish of eleventh in the old Second Division back in the 1950-51 season.
