Rovers can cause upset at Villa

Speaking to The Doncaster Star today Rovers midfielder John Spicer says that Rovers could be the latest club to produce an F A Cup shock

"No football game is ever mission impossible"

"You just have to look at some of the results that the FA Cup has thrown up over the years to see that there are always upsets.

"All the pressure will be on Villa. They are flying high in the Premier League, they are at home and they want to win the FA Cup.

"We've made no secret of the fact that retaining our Championship status is our top priority and for me personally the league game at Blackpool on Saturday is the bigger game.

"But that is not to say that we won't be giving it a good go at Villa Park.

"We'll go there and try and enjoy it. It will be a big occasion and hopefully there will be a big crowd on the night.

"I'm sure that we'll be taking a good support and that they will get behind us. If we do our stuff, you never know what might happen.

"We are unbeaten in eight so we'll be going into the match in a confident frame of mind.

"We know that if a team lets us play football that we can play. Being at home they will try and force the pace. They will probably have most of the possession but we'll be looking to stay compact and then try and hit them on the break.

"It is a nice pitch which will suit us down to the ground.

"They'll have Ashley Young, who was suspended for the game at the Keepmoat Stadium, available on Wednesday.

"He's a good player but it is not as though they are a one-man team; they've got quality players throughout the side."

Giant striker John Carew is also back available after a three-month lay-off with a back problem.

If Rovers win the replay then their home game against the Owls will be postponed, because it is on FA Cup fifth-round day, Saturday February 14.
