Rovers, who had won two and drawn one of their four league games before the first of last season's international breaks, picked up just two points from their next 12 games.A sequence of results which included a 2-1 defeat away to the Royals."You would like to think that would never happen again but the thing about this game is that you never know what is going to happen," said Rovers defender James Chambers.
Rovers had played five games before this season's international break winning one and drawing three."It has been a busy start and we've been playing two games a week since the start of the season so the break came at the right time,'' said Chambers, who has played in all five league games."It was good to go into the break of a win over leaders Cardiff City. Prior to that we'd be playing well but not getting the results that we probably deserved."We drew the first three, before losing up at Middlesbrough, and depending on your viewpoint, we were either unbeaten in three or had yet to win."It was great to get a win against Cardiff because it has given us confidence for the next two away games at Reading and West Bromwich Albion.
"Reading haven't made the best of starts, which surprises me, but they brought a few new players at the start of the season and they are probably still trying to gell."They have also brought in a new manager in Brendan Rodgers, who was at Watford last season."One of the players the Royals signed during the summer was Rovers defender Matt Mills, who swapped clubs for a fee believed to be around £1.5m - a record for the South Yorkshire club.
"I'm sure that Matt will be looking forward to the game and putting a good show on," said Chambers."But one or two of our lads will want to get the better of him, so it promises to be a good battle."I would imagine that Matt will have briefed their manager on how we play - if he didn't know already - and he'll know the strengths and weaknesses of all our forwards."But likewise we know all about him."Tomorrow is an important game for us and we've got to try and maintain our momentum and pick up some sort of result."If we could do that it would give us a big boost for the game at West Bromwich Albion on Tuesday."
