Richie Wellens returns to Rovers

The 33-year-old left City by mutual consent last week after reaching an agreement to be released from his contract, bringing to an end his four-year spell at the club. Wellens, who signed for City from Rovers in 2009 for £1 million, has been training with his former club since his release and made his first appearance when he started a pre-season friendly against Bradford. Wellens has agreed a short-term contract following a lengthy absense from Leicester's line up last season
