I know the BBC website has the reputation of "never knowingly right" but I fully believe the story I just read in the Doncaster Rovers section to be a joke so funny I will finally smile when I pay my licence fee.
Does anyone remember Andy "ooh me hamstring" Watson? Thats Andy " I can't play 3 consequtive games or 90 mins" Watson. I'm talking about Andy "I'm off to the Premiership" Watson if you're not clear on which Andy "I couldnt score regularly for Farsley Celtic" Watson just in case you need further clarification.
Anyway, Andy Watson has signed for Chester City as we know. This will suit him down to the ground playing in a longball Mark Wright team that has no use for midfielders as he'll be able to happily avoid tackles, the ball and taking part in the game (things he shuns) as the ball sails over his head.
But the punchline?
okay.
On the BBC website it says he helped Doncaster to promotion!!!
They fail to mention, "by staying out of the team so much Doncaster were able to play someone who cared".
