Thanks for your e-mails, Here are some of the distressed fans quotes on the 'Penney Out' matter:

Nothing more than six points against Barnsley, Chesterfield and Hartlepool could and should result in DP being sacked. The talk of Keegan taking over is silly why have have a man who has walked away from every job he has had. When the going gets tough the tough get going, thats keegan all over.

If DP (Penney) is to get the boot why not put Micky Walker in charge till the end of the season give him his chance.

I didn't go to the away game today at swindon, but from what i've heard it was awful and i'm glad i didn't.

I sat listening to Radio Sheffield's praise or grumble though and everytime a rovers fan came on all i could heard was background chants of "Penney Out!". I heard he sat thornton on the bench afta a hat-trick in the reserves?? and brought leo on for our only goal scorer ross mccormack??? It sounds to me like he got everyting wrong the other day.

I also have heard that the reason thornton was on the bench was due to a falling out??? is this true?? if so the only way we can moved forward maybe a change of manager?

Now people will say to me stop moaning and look how far we have come, but sometimes you need to stop dewelling on the past and think about the future and where we are going and who can take us there, maybe it is time for a fresh approach.

I personally think that Penney is living off past glories and has an 'I am indispensable' attitude, he must have an arrogant side to him, that is why the spirit has gone from the players.

It's time for change at the top.

I cannot believe all these cries for "Penney out", we are having our first really bad run since he became manager. I was at saturdays game and admit we didn't start playing until we were 2-0 down but I don't think the pitch helped our style of passing football, I think we are missing a few key players at the moment especially Steve Roberts who was the most consistent player in the team until his injury. The fans turning on Penney will not help the players confidence so stop your whinging and get behind everyone at the club!!!!

I dont understand all this "Penney out" mail...the man has done so much for the club we ALL love and you want to kick him out the minute he hits a bad patch?? every team hits a run of bad form through the season and it is statistically proven that sacking managers and bringing in new ones all the time doesn't work for a stable and successful club....Ok, we've had a really bad run of recent but the last 3 games have all been away and we've had injury problems aswell as back-room problems....give Penney a chance because if he goes somewhere else he WILL bring success to them and who would you rather be successful...us, or a rival team??...Fans please think, its just a bad patch and we're building Rovers for the future.....
