"We know the problems we have but we don't want to get fixated on it, as it puts even more pressure on the people that get the chances," the Rovers boss has said.
"The strikers that you really want - there's absolutely no chance of us getting.
"It doesn't mean we need to lower our expectations, it just means that we start at that point and then go through the process of trying to get them, because you want to try and improve the squad that you've got.
"The way that we play football, we need a quality front man. I can get somebody who is quick, but that's all he is - quick.
"The other choice is bringing in somebody who hasn't played any league football and that's a big ask, to bring somebody in like that and expect them to perform at this level."
