Exciting prospect Waide Fairhurst signs two year contract

The 20-year-old is highly rated by the Rovers management as is regarded as being one of the best prospects to come through the ranks since midfelder Paul Green - now plying his trade at Derby - during the club's Conference era.

Fairhurst signed a one-year deal last summe rand spent a long spell on loan at Blue Square North side Solihull Moors Football Club last season - where his progress was closely monitored by Rovers boss Sean O'Driscoll.

On returning to the club, and catching the eye in training, Fairhurst made his first-team debut in late March when coming off the bench against Coventry City at the RICOH Arena.

He made his Keepmoat Stadium debut in the final home game of the season against Crystal Palace - capping a sound display by setting up Rovers' second goal for James Hayter in the 2-0 win.
