Doncaster v South Elmsall's finest

Again Doncaster put out a strong team for a Pre Season game at Frickley's Millenium Worldwide Stadium. The West Yorkshire side who put up a fine performance in winning last seasons Sheffield Senior Cup at Hillsborough were without key striker and Captain Lee Morris who recently signed for Harrogate Town and pocket rocket Dan Sherrif who joined Carl Shutt at Bradford park Avenue this season.

Rovers front pairing of Beardsley and Coppinger were singled out for much praise on the evening. Although Beardsley seems the obvious candidate for praise with his 4 goals Coppinger work tirelessly creating chances for others all evening and his touch, pace and vision seem to explain why Penney chased this player for so long. The odd goal in 5 was scored by Chris Beech who from being almost gauranteed out of the side seems to have slowly worked hard enough to regain at least a place in the reserves.
