Coppinger deal done.

Doncaster Rovers make their first signing of the summer by bringing in james Coppinger for an undisclosed fee. The fee itself will not be a large one due to contract status, and all that's left now is personal terms.

Middlesboro born Coppinger had complained of missing the North East, which Doncaster is only an hour down the A1 from and Penney had already failed in a bid earlier in the season.

Having begun his career with Darlington I believe he was the subject of a £250,000 bid by Newcastle United which although it did not work out for him gave him some valuable top flight coaching.

Loan Spells at the likes of QPR and Hartlepool came before his signing for Exeter which gave him his first runs in the first team , in which he excelled as a goal providing winger who pops up with the odd thunderbolt himself.

With only personal terms to discuss this is now a done deal, and may be the solution to the right wing problem we have if Tierney gets injured again.
