Rovers have signed former Middlesbrough striker Alun Armstrong until the end of the season.
Alun's career has been an eventful one seeing him play for Newcastle, Stockport and Ipswich - He also moved to Middlesborough from Stockport for a £1.6 millionin 1998, hitting the headlines.
Since leaving Middlesbrough he has played for Bradford City and Darlington before signing for Rushden.
At six feet tall he will make a commanding impression on the team and his experience in the game will help Rovers in the run up.
Alun said "I spoke to Dave last season but by the time I made my mind up it was too late. I have monitored the Rovers progress since and think this will be a good move to a progressive club"
